The Devils' left winger says it was from his own visor and happened when he fought Maple Leafs captain Dion Phaneuf during the second period Sunday night. But there were some who wondered if Phaneuf's stick may have clipped [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and led to the bout rather than a check that followed.
What started it?
"Nothing really," [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] said. ""It happened. It's part of the game. I'm not special. We all know he plays that kind of style. There's nothing wrong with it."

Coach Jacques Lemaire would rather see [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] avoid fights.
"We need him on the ice," Lemaire noted. "We don't need him to get into fights. Those things will happen."

After the Devils' 4-1 loss to the Maple Leafs, Lemaire singled out Patrik Elias for his play.
"The player who is probably playing the best hockey right now is Patrik,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Lemaire said. "I feel he's playing better than last year."
